P90X Day 20 – Kenpo X

Kenpo X finishes off the third week of some intense training. I’m proud to say I made it through 3 weeks straight without missing a workout. I think I’m more proud of my wife for doing the same thing. Getting up at 5:45am almost every morning is insane and I totally respect her effort. She stressed some concerns today that she is not losing that much weight, but is feeling stronger. Maybe she should have done the lean program, but I told her to get through this 90 days and see what her results are and then kick in a total cardio program like ChaLean.

As for me Kenpo X, it was fun today, and although I wish it was a little more intense I still felt great at the end and dropped a few ounces of sweat. I plan to take tomorrow and rest, watch a little football and eat right. Then come Monday, I will rock it again.

I’ve included my Day 20 photos to show where I stand. I feel good which is all I really care about at this point. I’m looking forward to 3 new DVD’s next week, but we’ll see how I do with them.

P90X Day 13

Woke up feeling great knowing my last workout of the week was today and the famous day of rest is tomorrow. It turns out my day started at a local fair with a petting zoo, which was very nice for the kids. What I did learn from the experience is you have to get out and see things no matter what. It could be a petting zoo or just a walk outside your neighborhood. Don’t just sit on your butt on some days, enjoy life. Since I started working out with P90X my perspective on life has changed somewhat. I’m developing better habits including eating better and flossing my teeth daily, which has always been a pain in the ass for me. Anyway, I closed off a great week of training today with my wife and I look forward to next week.

By the way, my new Kenpo X DVD worked much better so I was able to get my rhythm going and I rocked it out for the hour period. This work out is a nice changeup, but I feel like one extra heart rate move is needed. Maybe it’s just me looking for more, but I still like it a lot.

P90X Day 6

You know that feeling when you get up after a big work out the day before, and you just don’t know if you can make it to the bathroom. Yea, that is what I was feeling this AM. It was a tough get out of bed morning, but soon after a couple of stretches I was ready to go. I was expecting it, and understood, if you don’t workout your muscles you are going to be sore. No questions asked, just get ready for the day.

I ate a pretty big breakfast this morning, high levels of protein to try and help the muscle repair time. By mid day I was ready for Kenpo X. I was excited to press play and so it began and then it stopped. I was having some serious issues with the DVD throughout the whole routine. I never really found a rhythm because of it. I will try and make a new copy seeing there are scratches on the DVD.

Although a strong workout, I will get into more detail next time, since I was a bit disappointed in the DVD issue. I’m glad it came at the end of the week however, since my body was taking a pounding and I needed some kind of break.

Speaking of breaks tomorrow is a day of rest or X stretch. No pounding. The key here is to keep eating right and get ready for the next day.
