There has been a lot of chatter about the new P90x2 workout by Tony Horton and BeachBody. I think a lot of people are just waiting to workout just to get these DVD’s. However, this is the best time to get your body acclimated before you hit the 90 days of super intense workouts that P90x2 will bring. These workouts will be even more difficult than before and you better be ready.
Obviously there will be some repetition, but if you are just getting off the couch, please note, you will get your ass kicked more than others that have been doing some work.
We’ll let you know as soon as P90X2 comes out and hopefully give you a solid review. Good Luck out there.
It’s been a while since my last P90x workout using the videos. Obviously over the past year I’ve incorporated plenty of the moves in my workouts, both at home and in the gym. This past Saturday, I just didn’t have enough time to make it to the gym. I decided to do the good ole PULL Back and Bicep workout. Wow, was I in for a treat.
The P90x workouts are some of the best videos on the market, if not the best. When I was doing it full on, I saw the results and then some. I knew going back to any of the selected workouts would be a challenge. I did my best and forgot the rest.
I can honestly say it was one of my best workouts for these two muscle groups in a while. I just blasted my back and biceps nonstop. I even did some Ab Ripper X after everything was said and done. I’m definitely going to mix in more of these workouts with my gym membership. They are too good not to use. I would also highly recommend you revisit these workouts if you haven’t done them for some time.
With so many different moves in one workout you wonder how you even compete with this at the gym. Now I know I need to step up my game for sure to see even better results.

I’ve recently been using a pretty cool IPhone app to track my workouts. It’s pretty simple to use and allows me to enter in my data with ease while at the gym. After trying several different Workout Apps, I finally found one that worked for what I need.
At this moment I have three routines I’m following at the Gym. I’m able to create these individual workouts as well as add any exercise I want to add. This allows me to add some of the funky moves I do that my trainer taught me.
It didn’t take me long to get used to this app and really take advantage of it. This Workout App may workout for you as well. It cost’s $2.99 at the ITunes store and at this point is totally worth the cost.
The other day I had a training session with a personal trainer. Right off the bat he seemed like a great guy. We went through a lot of the normal questions and then I did a Body fat analyzer using the Omron HBF306CN as seen in the picture. Within a few seconds a majority of my vital readings were measured.
It was super simple to use and the accuracy was awesome. It was small so you can keep it in your gym bag if you feel so inclined. Either way, it seems like a pretty cool tool for the price. With numerous modes you can be sure it will work with your body type. It is a great accessory to follow your progress as you try or stay in shape.
I said that three letter word I thought I wouldn’t say for some time.
It’s now been a full year since I completed my first round of P90x and Insanity. I do feel great, but not nearly like I did when I finished those two programs. Completing insanity in the early summer, I soon kicked off a pretty good running routine. Running was never my thing because of my weak legs. After completing Insanity, I knew this wouldn’t be an issue anymore.
I started off with some one mile runs and eventually was cranking out 4 mile runs. Since the weather has changed to the dark side, I can’t run outside anymore. All I have is an elliptical and that is worthless to me. This leaves me with no other choice. The GYM.
I plan to workout at the Gym, three times a week, with my focus being on the treadmill. I will of course due a lot of body work as well. I just don’t have time to spend hours at the gym. The gym is also good for my mental state as well. Since I work from home, getting out there with other people in this winter tundra will hopefully keep my sanity in check.
If you are on the fence about buying p90x, then it’s time to get off. It took me over a year to finally buy it. And guess what, here comes the new years resolution push. You will soon see tons of P90x commercials on your TV. It’s an awesome program and it will whip you into shape. Give it a go and you’ll be glad you did.
Tania, I’ve been watching you rock these same videos over and over again. I’m now beating your beautiful body in that fit test and here I come for my final week. After getting held up by my calf injury I was able to recuperate and get back to 100%. These workouts are super intense, and all I can say is, yes I’m glad I did them, but I’m so looking forward to the end.
I knew this workout was insane, but I never knew it would make you sweat so much that you’re wiping your face every other minute. I couldn’t tell you how many times my mat got slippery in a pool of sweat. I want to end on a good note and really finish up strong. I already have plans for my workouts after these are done, but the final week is where you see the results. Just like my p90x results, I’m definitely seeing insanity results. The heart is working well and my stamina is increasing everyday.
Due to the lack of some intense muscle work, during the rest period I take an extra 30 seconds or so and bang out some pull ups, bicep curls, or shoulder presses depending on the day. These have been awesome additions to the cardio workout. I’m really starting to see the results in my biceps. I’m still a little concerned about my stomach. I know my ABS are strong as hell right now, but I still have a tiny belly. It’s not fat, just stands out a bit instead of my six pack. Unfortunately it looks like I will need to starve myself for a full six pack to show. It’s most likely genetics at this point. We shall see.
If you are just starting Insanity, P90X or any other program I wish you well. It is an uphill climb, but in the end it feels damn good.
Tania Ante - Insanity
PS – Tania, if you have some time to chat I would love to hear about what you’re up to. My final fit test is coming and I really hope I crush your numbers. See you at the Top.
I got through 29 days and all hell broke loose. I was warming up like I’ve been doing for the past month and I felt some pain in my calf. Of course, for some reason I said to myself I should stop, but guess what, I kept pushing through the pain. Within about 10 minutes, boom, pop, blah. I felt my calf explode. It was brutal. This was the worst injury I’ve had in many years. I walked with a pretty bad limp for five days. I think I got lucky not tearing something and only straining it.
By the end of the 7th day of not doing anything but upper body workouts, I was starting to feel pretty good, but not 100%. I felt like an NFL injury report where the player can play, but is not 100%. Now I know what that means. Since I was on my recovery week I decided to start again. This workout went fairly well, but I had some pain. The next day I tried it again and could only make it through the first 5 minutes. That was a clear sign for me to stay on the sidelines.
I decided to take another week off. Just this past Monday more then 2 weeks after the injury I picked Insanity back up for the second half. Wow, was that a wake up call. The calf feels great, but the rest of my body is sore. I’m just happy to be doing these workouts again. I was still working out during my injury timeout. I was doing tons of push ups, pull ups, biceps, shoulders, triceps and it actually felt really good after doing so much cardio for a month straight.
Max Interval Circuit – I thought the first 30 days was tough. This stuff is risickulous.
More about this in the future.
